End Nuisance of Error 1669 in Windows PCs/Laptops

Apple devices such as iPhone, iPad and iPod show error 1669 during iOS update processes. Let’s start with the solutions.

Restore the Device

First, connect your device to PC, put it in DFU Mode

  1. Connect the device to your PC using a USB cable.
  2. Press Power & Home keys simultaneously and hold on for 15 seconds.
  3. Keep holding Home key for 7 more seconds.
  4. This starts your device into Recovery Mode and iTunes will be automatically opened.
  5. Click the Restore button. Remember, you must have a backup of your files before proceeding. This process removes everything stored on your device.

 

Restore Using IPSW File

Follow this step if you’ve got an IPSW file on your Windows PC or Mac.

  1. First backup your settings to your PC or iCloud account.
  2. For Windows, press Command + Alt keys simultaneously. For Mac, press Command + Alt keys.
  3. Click Restore button.
  4. Now locate the IPSW file.
  5. Click OK.
  6. After successful completion, the device will automatically start.

 

Update iTunes

Make sure you do not use an older version of iTunes.

Download iTunes Software

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. Click Check for updates option.

 

Wait till Apple Servers are Busy

There is another possibility that Apple servers are currently busy. Wait for some time and then try again.

 

Use a USB Hub

Instead of using a USB Port, do use a USB Hub to connect your iPhone to the computer.

 

Reinstall iTunes

Some of your iTunes program files are corrupted. Reinstalling the program will fix this problem.

iTunes Uninstall

For Windows 8.1/ 8

  1. Press Windows Key + C, click Search in the Charms Bar.
  2. Type Programs and Features in the Search box, click Settings. Open the keyword from Search Results.
  3. Uninstall iTunes. (Select > Uninstall icon).
  4. After completing the process of removing this software, please restart your machine.
  5. Open Computer; locate the following folder:
  • C:\Program Files (x86)
  1. Delete “iTunes” subfolder.
  2. Download the latest version online and install it on your PC.

 

Clear Cache & Warnings Log

Make sure you delete cache content and warnings log.

iTunes Preferences Dialog

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. Press Alt key to show menu bar.
  3. Click Edit | Preferences.
  4. Click the Advanced tab.
  5. Click following buttons:
  • Reset Warnings
  • Reset Cache
  1. Exit and reopen iTunes.
