Street Fighter 5 Crashing in Windows 10. Learn How to Fix and Optimize it

If we have to choose one game that was a legend during the childhood of most of the readers of this article, then it has to be Street Fighter. We all have fond memories of competing against our opponents and giving them a run for their money.

It is now back with the 5th installment of its series! Just like it’s past peers, Street Fighter 5 comprises of exciting battle mechanics backed up by endless fighting fun. However, certain problems like frequent crashing during playback, need to be addressed in order to make it a worthwhile experience for the user.

Check System Requirements

Check to see whether your computer meets the minimum system requirements (hardware and software) as defined by the developer.

  • Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64 Bit) or latest
  • Processor: Intel Core i3 (3.60 GHz)
  • RAM: 6 GB
  • Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 or latest
  • Audio Card: Any audio card compatible with DirectX
  • Software: Microsoft DirectX 11

Add Game Files to Antivirus Whitelist

Your Antivirus might have blocked Street Fighter 5 from running. Add the game’s executable files to the White List. Any files added to the whitelist will be spared from the Antivirus’s protective hold.

For Kaspersky Internet Security:

  1. Open Kaspersky Internet Security.
  2. Click the “Settings” link at the bottom.
  3. Click “Additional” tab in the Settings dialog.
  4. Click on the “Threats and Exclusions” icon.
  5. Now add the game to trusted applications list. To do so, click the “Specify trusted applications” link.
  6. Next click Add | Browse and then add all the Executable Files (.exe) one by one. Here is the default installation directory:
  • C:\Program Files\CAPCOM\StreetFighterV\
  1. Save the changes you’ve just made.

Note: The actual location may vary if you’ve installed the game in a different directory.

 

Add Game Files to UAC Whitelist

UAC is an abbreviation of User Account Control, a core feature in Windows operating system that protects your computer from unwanted and malicious changes with administrator-level prompts. Street Fighter 5 might crash whenever UAC conflicts with the game files. Adding it to the UAC Excluded List will fix this problem.

  1. Press Windows Key + R.
  2. Type “control sysdm.cpl” and click OK.
  3. Click Advanced tab > Settings (Performance) > Data Execution Prevention tab.
  4. Choose the second option that excludes certain items. Click Add.
  5. Locate the EXEs from the game’s installation directory, and then click OK twice.

 

Update Essential Components

Make sure all essential components such as Microsoft DirectX, Microsoft .NET Framework, are up-to-date. Visit Microsoft Download Center and use the Search box on the upper right to find latest versions for these. Download them all and install them. Restart your PC once all the installations are over.
