Quick Fix: Windows 10 Application Crashes

Since Microsoft introduced and deployed Windows 10, some applications do not respond as they should. In the following guide, you will find a solution that might work for you.

First, we will check the reliability history and view if there is an online solution for the crash. If there is no solution available, I will explain how to run applications in compatibility mode.

  1. Go to Start and type down: reliability history and click on View reliability history.
  2. Proceed to the next step.

  3. Click on Check for solutions to all problems.

  4. Please wait until the following screen disappears:

  5. If the following screen pop-up proceed to the following step: Click on Close and close down Reliability History.

  6. Click with your right mouse button on the program’s shortcut and select “Properties” (see image).

  7. After you clicked on “Properties” the following menu will pop-up (see image). Please click on “Compatibility” and go to the next step.

  8. Go to Compatibility mode and select Windows 7 from the drop-down menu (see image). After this select the option “Run this program as an administrator”. Click an Apply and close the window afterward.

After completing these steps, the program will now start up in compatibility mode (Windows 7). If this doesn’t work, please take step 5 – 7 again and choose a different version of Windows, for example, Windows 8. If the software is still crashing, choose a different version of Windows or contact your software supplier for a solution.
