Disable all Services

A clean boot is performed when a startup/ service conflicts with your operating system components and results into error 18 Windows 10. Use the MSCONFIG command in Run or Search Box, and then activate the clean boot feature from the Boot tab.

Terminate Spotify Process & Uninstall it

Using the Processes tab in the Task Manager, stop the Spotify.exe process from running. Once you’re done, go through the list of installed apps (under System > Apps & Features) in the Settings screen. Use the Search box. Download a new version from Spotify official website.

 

Fix Corrupted Contents in SoftwareDistribution

Use the command-line given below to automatically stop associated service and rename the Download subfolder in the SoftwareDistribution directory.

  • net stop wuauserv
  • ren %windir%\SoftwareDistribution\Download Download_old
  • net start wuauserv
  • wuauclt.exe /updatenow
  • cmd-update-now

 

Modify Registry Configurations

Set the AllowOSUpgrade string to “1” to turn on this feature. If no such string is found, create a new DWORD (32 Bit) from the File menu with specified DWORD Name and Value.

Restore the Machine

Type System Restore in the Search Box of your Start Screen, and then click Create a restore point. Open the tool from the subsequent dialog (System Protection tab). Follow the on-screen instructions.
