Upgrade Dropbox and Keep Quota Usage in Check

In this digital age, cloud storage services provide a pretty straightforward way to stash all your files online such that they can be accessed anywhere, anytime. One such renowned cloud service is Dropbox. While Dropbox makes lives easier, it also comes with a common problem: limited storage space.

If you are using Dropbox for personal use, the free plan that comes with 2GB space might be sufficient for you. However, if you are using it for professional reasons, you might want to upgrade to paid plans. Let’s take a look at how you can upgrade your Dropbox plan.

How to Upgrade Dropbox?

Once you log into your Dropbox account (in your web browser), you will see the Upgrade Account option in the top right corner, right above your user picture. Upon clicking here, you will be navigated to a new page where you can compare all plans and then decide if you want to take a trial or purchase a plan directly.

Once you click on Purchase Now, you will be directed to a payment page. Now all you have to do is choose your billing cycle (monthly or yearly), enter your payment details, agree to the terms and conditions, and hit the Buy Now button. Currently, Dropbox accepts payments made via Paypal, debit cards, VISA, master cards, and American Express.

Keep Quota Usage in Check

Keeping a check on how much storage space you are using and how much you’re left with is quite essential. To check this, you can simply click on your user picture in the top right corner. This will open up a small window briefing you about your current storage space status. It will give you something like this:

213.71 MB of 2.25 GB used

If you are paying for a service, you should ensure that you’re not draining your money. Having a lot of unnecessary duplicate files on your Dropbox account can often eat up a significant portion of your storage space. This means that you might have to upgrade your plan again very soon or you might need to make multiple accounts. Now, you wouldn’t want that, would you?

To overcome this problem, you should try to get rid of all the duplicate files residing in your Dropbox account. This is the only way you can keep your usage quota in check and maintain a clean account.

The best way to automatically detect and remove duplicate files accumulated within your Dropbox is to use an automated tool. Cloud Duplicate Finder is a great option. It’s fully online and more importantly, highly secure.

Occasionally running a scan and getting rid of junk duplicates will simply help you save some storage space, and in the longer run, a lot of money!
