Fix 1 – Router/Modem Restart

This one is simplest, yet a highly effective way to fix any connectivity issue. Just restart your WiFi router or modem.

Fix 2 – Update your Drivers

This option requires you to use another PC. Why? Because you need to download the drivers from the Internet.

Remember: Windows 10 is a new OS, as I’ve mentioned it earlier, so you need to update the drivers. Because compatibility of drivers results in connectivity issues. Here’s how you can update your drivers:

  1. Visit the manufacturer’s website.
  2. Make sure you’ve downloaded the latest drivers for the Ethernet and Motherboard (and for the appropriate OS).
  3. Install them.

Fix 3 – Renew your IP

You can renew your IP as well. This fix needs you to use the command box. Follow the steps to renew it:

  • Press Windows + X key.
  • Select Command Prompt (Admin).
  • Press Yes.
  • In the command box, type ipconfig/release. Press Enter.
  • Now type ipconfig/renew. Press Enter, again.
  • Type Exit and hit Enter.

Congrats! You now have a new IP.

Fix 4 – Disable and Enable your Connection

This option is self-explanatory. It is similar to the Fix 1 where you’ve to restart your router. But, here you’ve to do everything on the computer. How? Follow the steps:

  • Go to Start Menu.
  • Search for Network and Sharing Center.
  • Open it.
  • Now click on Connections (It opens up in a new window).
  • Click Disable.
  • Repeat the 1st step.
  • Now go to Change Adapter Settings.

Here you go. Now find the “disabled” icon. Right-click on it. Select ‘Enable’ to complete the process.

Fix 5 – Update/Reinstall VPN and/or Antivirus/Firewall

This one is for users who use VPN, Antivirus or Firewall.

  • If you’ve installed VPN, uninstall it. Now check if the Internet is working. If it does, either update the VPN version or go for an alternate VPN.
  • Follow the same steps with Antivirus or Firewall.

We recommend you to wait and check if the software is compatible with the Windows 10. Remember some software programs work very well with the Windows, while some can cause connectivity issues.
