But issues still exist with the Windows 10. The same holds true for EA’s Origin game client. Origin receives regular updates from EA as all EA games now require you to login to Origin to play.

Solutions

Update Windows 10

Initially, it was suggested to disable Windows Updates on Windows 10 because it hogged the bandwidth with constant updates. But, if you’re having this issue, it is best that you enable Windows updates. Whatever the case, in order to install the latest updates, follow these steps:

  1. In the Start Menu search bar, type Windows Update Settings.
  2. Click on the “Windows Update Settings (System Settings).
  3. The Update and Security windows will open
  4. Select Windows Update on the right.
  5. Click Check for Updates.
  6. Windows Update will download and install any backlog of updates including the ones needed to address this issue if it has been released.
  7. Restart PC. Now, sometimes, there are updates that require several minutes to install and in some cases, multiple restarts. So wait till the whole process finishes.
  8. Once done, start Origin and it starts working now.

Install Visual C++ Redistributable Packages

These Visual C++ libraries are needed for many of the software to work properly on your Windows. The error you’re receiving might be due to the unavailability of these packages. Follow the steps to install them manually:

  1. Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Packages. (Check if your Windows Installation is 32bit or 64bit and download accordingly).
    1. Windows 10 32-bit – Download.
    2. Windows 10 64-bit – Download.
  2. Now, download and install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables for Visual Studio 2013 (this one is very important).
    1. Windows 10 32/64-bit – Download.
  3. Open the vcredist_x86.exe or vcredist_x64.exe depending on the one necessary for your Windows 10 Installation.
  4. This is an automated process. Just click “Next” until the setup starts downloading the files and then click ‘close/exit’ when the setup finishes.
  5. Restart your PC.

Replace crucial DLL system files

This one is your last option. Replace .DLL files manually with the new ones. Here’s how:

  1. Download the rar file containing the .DLL files from here.
  2. Once downloaded, extract them someplace.
  3. Go to C:\Windows\System32 and replace the respective files.
  4. Now, go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64 and replace the respective files.

If all these solutions did not work out:

Here’s another one but it is only required in rare cases.

  1. Uninstall Origin.
  2. Follow Solution 1 and 2.
  3. Re-download Origin, and install it.
