Check Date-Time Settings

The timezone, date & time settings are likely to be incorrect. Correct this minor issue as follows:

  1. In the Search Box of your Taskbar, type timedate.cpl.
  2. Click “Change time zone” button, and then select your time zone.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Click “Change date and time” button.
  5. Set correct the date and time.
  6. Click OK | OK.

 

Exclude iTunes from Firewall Security

See if the Firewall protection is preventing iTunes from establishing a network connection with Apple’s servers. Such problems are a common occurrence with third-party Firewall software. The steps to add iTunes to Windows Firewall’s whitelist are given below:

  1. In the Search Box on the Taskbar, type Windows Firewall.
  2. Open the Control Panel item “Allow an app through Windows Firewall” from Search Results.
  3. Now you’ll come across a list of all those apps & features on your screen which are allowed to operate freely by Windows Firewall. Click the Change Settings button as form objects are disabled and greyed.
  4. Click Allow another app button, browse and add the following iTunes files:

Sync All Items after Deleting

These steps shall help you first delete all synchronized items and then reinitiate the sync process:

  1. Connecting your iPad / iPhone to your computer/ laptop.
  2. Select the device, and then click the Photos tab.
  3. You’ll be prompted to select either  Automatic or Manual scan. Choose one that you prefer.
  4. Now you will see image thumbnails on your screen. Uncheck all the items.
  5. Confirm when you’re prompted for the removal of the selected images.
  6. Start synchronizing your device’s contents for one more time. This time make sure you check-up all image thumbnail items.

 

Quit Conflicting Apps

Quit Web Accelerator software, and any virtualization software like Parallels, VMWare. They are known for conflicting with the sync process, if not configured properly.

Right-click the system tray icons of any software that might be conflicting with the sync process and choose Options. In the new dialog, click the Advanced tab. Uncheck the box labeled Launch automatically on system startup, and then save the changes. Restart your system.

 

Update iTunes

Download the latest version to avoid internal system bugs. Press Alt key to show the menu bar, and then click Help | Check for Updates.

Prerequisite

  3. Click the Restore button in the Summary panel.
  4. The process may take a while. The device will automatically reboot once the restoration is successfully complete.

 

Enter into Recovery Mode

Put your device into Recovery Mode as follows:

  1. Turnoff  the device before you connect it using a USB cable.
  2. Press and hold the Home key until a screen appears with the text Connect to iTunes.
  3. Switch off the device once again so that it enters into the DFU Mode.
  4. Open iTunes.
  5. Fire up the Run dialog. Type “AppData”, and click OK.
  6. Locate the following directory:.
  • ..\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates
  1. Delete the entire contents of this folder.
