Clear Kodi Cache

When you experience extremely slow performance and Kodi buffering issues then the first thing which you have to check is whether the cache is full? If this is the case then you need to clear the cache from the settings. To do this you need to install an add-on Maintenance Tool Program. Even though this tool is designed for expert users, using it for clearing the cache is not at all risky.

  1. From the main screen of Kodi click on Program | Add-on Installer | Program Add-ons.
  2. Now scroll down to find Maintenance Tool Program. Once you’ve found it, click on it to install the add-on.
  3. A confirmation dialogue box will appear, click OK to confirm the installation.
  4. After installation a new box will appear that will inform you about the successful completion of installation. Click OK once again.

Now you can safely remove the Kodi cache. To do so, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Go to Programs from Kodi home screen and click Continue in the popup warning.
  2. Launch Maintenance Tool Program by selecting it from the list.
  3. Click Programs | General Maintenance.
  4. Now select Clear Cache.
  5. It will take some time to clear the cache and then inform you at the end using a popup. Click on OK.

If the cache is cleared and you still are facing buffering issues, then the Internet connection might be the problem. Other than upgrading your connection, changing the video quality settings can also prove helpful to fix Kodi buffering issues. For this purpose, you must have the Video add-on installed in your system.

  1. From their Kodi home screen, go to Videos | Add-ons.
  2. If you have installed Exodus then highlight it but don’t click it. Now press the C button on your keyboard.
  3. Select the Add-on settings option from the next menu.
  4. Now select the Max Quality option and now you can reduce the quality from 1080p to 720p or even as low as 480p.
  5. Click OK to apply these settings.

This solution will facilitate streaming different videos seamlessly even with a mediocre Internet connection. Have a nice day!
