How to Optimize Internet Speed

1.Clean the Junk Entries of your Browser

  • Download a Registry Cleaner software..
  • Install and run it.
  • Click Registry Cleaner tab.
  • Click Start Scan button.
  • After the scan is completed, click Fix Now button.

2.Get Faster Internet Plan


A web browser may respond slowly if your internet speed is very slow. You shall get a fast speed internet plan. Contact your internet service provider.

3. Disable Third-Party Add-Ons


Add-Ons are the extensions to your web browser that add additional features. At the same time, many third party add-ons negatively affect your web browser. You may have installed new add-ons while installing free and third-party software. You have to disable such add-ons.

Here are the steps to do so with Internet Explorer:

  • Open Internet Explorer.
  • Click Tools | Manage Add-Ons.
  • From the Show drop down box, select All Add-Ons option.
  • Disable the add-ons installed by third party software.
  • Click Close button.

4. Disable Third-Party Toolbars


A third party toolbar requires more time to load than a standard toolbar as it contains additional controls. To optimize internet speed, disable the third party toolbars.

Here are the steps to disable third-party toolbars with Internet Explorer.

  • Open Internet Explorer.
  • Click View | Toolbars.
  • Uncheck the toolbar that you do not wish to have enabled.

  • Click Tools | Delete Browsing History.
  • Click Delete button after ensuring the relevant check boxes are checked.

6. Increase the Virtual Memory


Virtual Memory is the amount of hard disk memory used when the physical memory (RAM) is insufficient. Increasing the virtual memory may help you to optimize internet speed.

  • Click Start.
  • Right click Computer icon.
  • Select Properties.
  • Click Advanced System Settings link.
  • Click Advanced tab.
  • Click Settings button under Performance frame.
  • Click Advanced tab.
  • Click Change button under Virtual Memory frame.
  • Uncheck the box named Automatically manage paging file size for all drives.
  • Extend the current paging size using Custom Size textbox.
  • Click OK | OK | OK.

7.Restructure the Registry by Defragmenting


Registry fragmentation could be the problem of slow speed and skipping internet. Defragmenting the registry may optimize internet speed.

Do below steps to remove duplicate registry entries and defragment it:

  • Download a PC Optimizer software that includes Registry Defragmenter.
  • Click Defragmenter tab.
  • Click Analyze button to start scanning the registry state.
  • Click Defragment button after the analyze is completed.

8.Uninstall Unneeded Programs

  • Click Start.
  • Click Control Panel | Programs | Uninstall a Program.
  • Select a program that you wish to remove.

9.Load Google Chrome without Sandbox


Running Google Chrome without Sandbox may help you to optimize internet speed. For that purpose, you need to locate the Chrome Properties, and modify the Target instructions as mentioned below:

  • Close Google Chrome if it is already open.
  • Click Start.
  • Click All Programs | Google Chrome.
  • Right click the shortcut Google Chrome, and select Properties option.
  • Insert the following instruction next to the existing path: --no-sandbox
  • Click Apply | OK.
