Use Microsoft System Update Readiness Tool

When a software is being installed new updates are also downloaded. Downloading the required updates during installation results in Error 1935 which can be rectified by using the System Update Readiness Tool designed by Microsoft.

 

Applicable for Windows 7 and Vista Only:

 
  • Firstly find out the version of Windows you're currently using. To do so, click Start, right click My Computer. Select Properties. You'll get all information about your computer. e.g. Windows version/ type
  • Download the most appropriate version compatible with your system:
    Windows 7 (64 Bit | 32 Bit)
    Windows Vista (64 Bit | 32 Bit)
 

Note: This step is not applicable for Windows 8 and Windows XP since no official tools are available for these versions.

 

Repair Microsoft .NET Framework Client Profile

Error 1935 occurs due to corrupt .NET Framework Client Profile. Repair the same.

 

For Earlier Versions of Microsoft Windows:

  • Click Start | Control Panel.
  • Click Programs | Uninstall a Program.
  • Select "Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile" and click Uninstall button.
  • Follow the instructions provided by the uninstall wizard. Reboot your computer when you're done.
  • Download a fresh setup online and go through the installation process.
 

For Windows 8:

  • Press the Windows Key to display the start screen.
  • Type "Uninstall a program" in the Search Box.
  • Click the Settings icon.
  • Open it from the Search Results.
  • Follow the Steps numbered 3-5 given in the last paragraph for earlier versions of Windows.
 

Scan for Registry Issues

This is a crucial task without which your diagnostic process won’t be complete. Change the Registry information in the following manner and then use a Registry Cleaner to fix remaining issues.

 

For Windows 8 and Earlier Versions:

 
  • Press the Windows Key.
  • Type "RegEdit" in the Search Box. Open it from the Search Results.
  • Locate the following Registry Path:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\
  • Right click ".NETFramework" key, select Rename. Type ".NETFramework_BACKUP" as a new name. We won’t take any risk by deleting the key. Instead we’ll rename it so that if any problem occurs, you can easily rename it to the old name.
  • Close Registry Editor and restart your machine.
  • Now download RegInOut System Utilities. Install and run the application.
  • Start complete Registry scan.
 

Stop Windows Installer Service

As you might know Windows Installer service is used for installation of different products. Temporarily stop this service and check whether Error 1935 still persists.

 

For Earlier Versions of Windows:

 
  • Click Start, type "Services.msc" in the Search Box. Open it from the Search Results.
  • Right click Windows Installer service, select Stop.
 

For Windows 8:

  • 1. Press the Windows Key, type "Services.msc" in the Search Box. Click the Apps icon and open it.
  • 2. Right click Windows Installer service and select Stop option.
 

Clear Transaction Log (For Adobe Reader Only)

If you’re encountering problem with Adobe Reader installation, clean the Transaction Log.

 

For Earlier Versions of Windows:

 
  • Click Start, point to All Programs | Accessories.
  • Right click "Command Prompt", select "Run as Administrator".
  • Type following command as it is given:
    fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\
    (C:\ denotes the installation drive. If your installation drive is different from "C", replace it with the appropriate drive letter.)
  • Press ENTER.
 

For Windows 8:

  • Press the Windows Key.
  • Type "Command Prompt" in the Search Box.
  • Click the Apps icon.
  • Right click it in the Search Results. Click the "Run as Administrator" icon at the bottom of the Start Screen.
  • Follow Steps 3-4 of the above paragraph given for earlier versions of Windows.
 

Disable Security Software

Disable your security software. Sometimes tt happens that antivirus programs block copying of suspicious files/ drivers. Error 1935 won’t appear if you disable the security software.

 

For Windows 8 and Earlier Versions:

 
  • Right click Antivirus program icon in the Notification Area of your Taskbar.
  • Select Disable | Disable until computer is restarted.
  • Click Yes in the confirmation dialog.
 

Clean Boot your PC

The term Clean Boot is used to describe disabling third party startup applications and services. There is a possibility that a file your setup program tries to copy is being used by another program/ service running in the background.

 

For Earlier Versions of Windows:

 
  • Click Start, point to All Programs | Accessories | Run.
  • Type "MSCONFIG" in the Search Box.
  • Press ENTER.
  • Click the Startup tab, disable all items.
  • Click the Services tab, select "Hide all Microsoft services" checkbox. Disable all items.
  • Click OK and then restart the computer.
 

For Windows 8:

 
  • Press the Windows Key.
  • Type "MSCONFIG" in the Search Box.
  • Click the Apps icon.
  • Click Services tab, select "Hide all Microsoft services" box. Disable all items. Click Apply.
  • Click Startup tab. Click "Open Task Manager" link.
  • Task Manager opens with Startup tab. Right click a startup item, select Disable. Repeat it for all Non-Microsoft startup items.
  • Reboot your machine.
